Monitoring & Quality Assurance Tools

The Department of Elder Affairs provides most of its services to Florida seniors through contracts with the state’s eleven Area Agencies on Aging. In keeping with its role as a custodian of public resources, the Department regularly monitors those contracts to ensure that funds are being used properly and that services are being sufficiently provided to the Florida elders who need them.

As part of that function, the Department has developed Compliance Requirements and Interpretive Guidelines to help Area Agencies and local service providers understand the monitoring requirements under which they conduct most Department programs.
